Have you ever wondered what separates the rich people from the poor people?
It’s not the money, it’s not the big houses, nor is it the fancy cars..
The reason why rich people get to live the most amazing lifestyles possible while the poor people are just struggling to get by are because of 5 simple things that the rich do differently.
1) They Depend On Self Education
If you want to get good at basketball..
Who would you take advice from?
Michael Jordan? Or someone who has never even picked up a basketball?
Now if you want to lose weight and look sexy naked..
Who would you take advice from?
Someone with a six-pack or someone who is 600 pounds and one cupcake away from exploding?
Now it’s the same thing with wealth.
The problem with society and the current education system is that everyone teaching you how to make money..
DOES NOT HAVE THE RESULTS YOU WANT.
Which makes perfect sense why you see everyone graduating college in a crap load of debt without the slightest idea of what they want to do for the rest of their lives.
So if you depend on “formal education” for your success, then you will be digging your own financial grave.
What you can do instead is be like the rich.
And start depending on SELF EDUCATION.
Because while formal education will make you a living, self-education will make you a FORTUNE.
It’s no surprise that Warren Buffett, worth more than $75 billion, reads more than 500 pages every single day.
And it is no surprise that Bill Gates, worth more than $85 billion, reads 50 books a year.
So if they are willing to put that much time in self-education, then you should too.
Here’s how you can start:
- Every morning read 10 pages of a good book
- While driving to work listen to 30 minutes of a good audiobook
Here is the main difference between formal education and self-education..
With formal education, you learn for 4 years so that one day you can MAYBE apply what you learned after you graduate.
But with self-education, you utilize speed of implementation instead.
So when you are reading these books and listening to the audio books, you’re not just saving up and hoarding all the information in your brain so that you can take “a test” like in school.
Your test begins the moment you are done reading the page.
And the people who succeed the fastest are the people who can take in the information, and implement it as fast as possible.
The problem with most people is they read so much and apply very little.
Don’t be like most people..
Instead, the moment you get an idea, you need to marry that idea with an action within 5 seconds.
2) They Find Ways to Separate Time from Making Money
So as many of you know,
I came from a family where my mom used to work 16 hours a day.
She did this so that my little sister and I could attend a proper university.
But I knew what the 16 hours did to her..
She was sad, broken, and depressed.
And because of that, I knew for a damn fact that whenever I ever find a way to make money or get a high paying job..
That I wouldn’t fall into the same trap of working 16 hours a day.
But then what happened?
I got into e-commerce, and everyone I knew in the space where working more than 8 hours a day.
They were spending all of their time analyzing ads, fulfilling orders, and handling customer service.
Instead of living their lives, they were living in front of their laptop screens.
So immediately, when I started, I knew that I did not want to be like them.
This is what I did differently
- Whenever I learned a new skill, I wrote down the process
- I then recorded my screen on how that process was done
- Then I went to upwork.com and hired someone else to do that process
I did this for customer service, product research, and ads management.
Which has helped give me more freedom to focus on my YouTube channel and personal brand.
3) Their Biggest Boss Is Their Calendar
In 1998, Jerry Seinfeld, a popular comedian, made $267 million dollars in ONE YEAR.
Now how the hell did he do that?
What separated him from all the poor comedians in his industry was the habit of making his calendar his boss.
What he did was he had a huge calendar of the entire year on his wall.
And he made sure that every single day he would practice writing jokes, no matter how bad they were.
After he was done, he would make a huge X on the calendar for that day.
Now as he kept on going, the X’s started to make a chain.
His goal was to make sure to never break that chain.
So when people wonder how the hell he made $267 million in a single year, the secret was not in his geniusness, the secret was in his calendar.
He made sure that every single day he would show up.
Now ask yourself this..
When you are working on your business, are you actually showing up and working on your craft every single day?
Are you putting in the time and effort to learn and apply what it is you’ve learned?
You see the problem with most people is that they are too stuck on reading way too much books and listening to way too much audio books without applying what it is they’ve learned.
How you actually get better, is by application and DOING MORE.
For example, with the Mike Vestil brand, you may not know this, but I write every single day.
Now do I publish everything that I write?
But what happens is the more I write, the better I get in communicating my ideas.
The moment you master consistency in your daily actions will be the moment you master your life.
So what small action can you do every single day that will get you closer to your goals? (Let me know in the comments below)
4) They Are Producers NOT CONSUMERS
Here is the #1 characteristic of poor people:
Poor people buy things they don’t need to impress people they don’t like.
While the rich people see this as an opportunity and sell to the poor people these things that they want.
Since everyone around you does not have the results you want. What you got to do is the EXACT opposite of what everyone else is doing.
While everyone around you is consuming and spending money..
You need to focus on becoming a producer.
Producers supply demand.
Producers create jobs.
And producers make a crap ton of money.
How do I personally produce?
- I make sure I live a minimalistic life
- I spend most of my time SELLING instead of buying
- All my time is focused on giving VALUE as opposed to taking
5) They Are Not Afraid to Build a Personal Brand
What do Tim Ferris and Michael Jackson have in common?
They have a strong ass personal brand.
Michael Jackson in 2016 made $825 million even after being dead for more than 7 years.
Tim Ferriss was making $70K/month in his ecom store BUT was working 15 hours a day.
What is the point in all that money if you do not have the time to spend it?
The moment he created the 4 hour work week and built his blog was the moment that he started gaining more of his free time back.
Because every single content he produced became a little salesman for his brand.
And now, he is still reaping the benefits of the work that he has done years ago because of his personal brand.
So whatever cashflow business that you are working on, spend just as much time and effort in building your personal brand as well.
If you are working on drop shipping, build your personal brand around drop shipping.
If you are working on Amazon FBA, build your personal brand around Amazon FBA.
